ABOUT ME
Hi, I’m Lefa Mokonoto — a designer and illustrator who designs with purpose, not vanity.
My style is modern, but always layered – influenced by my love for abstract art, cultural storytelling, and the raw power of visual language. I use design as a way to unpack identity and a chance to unpack truth. Design, to me, is a form of storytelling and responsibility – and it treat it that way.
a bold and character-driven identity for a modern Vietnamese restaurant – blending cultural warmth with playful illustration and digital clarity.
using playful language and bold design to humanise animal adoption and connect pets to new homes
a seasonal wine label rooted in nature – merging hand-pressed florals with refined composition to reflect the freshness of Spier’s Chenin Blanc
where fragmented type becomes a language for
trauma – personal, raw, and quietly confrontational
a confronting visual narrative unpacking the brutal reality of forced removals in Cape Town – through layered storytelling, raw imagery and structural deconstruction
